Well it's crunch time in the English football season - the last day of the season in the Premiership, the battle of Manchester, as well as difficult times ahead for whoever slips up and falls down the football pan.
I was reading a little about the potential scenario's that can happen at the top of the Premiership. It seems Chelsea's participation in the Champions League Final adds a bit of swing. I got about 3 sentences in, then had to have an emergency labotomy;
"Chelsea can no longer finish higher than sixth, but their presence in the Champions League final slightly complicates the race for European places via the Premier League.
If Chelsea win the Champions League, they will take part in next season's competition as holders - but at the expense of the fourth-placed Premier League team who would normally qualify for the Champions League.
In this instance, the top three teams - and Chelsea - will all enter the Champions League at the group stage, while the fourth-placed team will instead enter the Europa League at the group stage.
But if Chelsea lose the Champions League final, the top four teams qualify for next season's competition as normal, with the top three in the group stage and the fourth-placed team entering in the play-off round. Chelsea, as FA Cup winners, would enter the Europa League at the group stage.
Whether or not Chelsea win in Munich, the fifth-placed Premier League team will enter the Europa League in the play-off round, while Carling Cup winners Liverpool will join in the third qualifying round. "
Simples, eh?!
But wait.......
What about Arsenal? Well....
"Arsenal will finish third: if they win; if they draw and Tottenham fail to win; if they lose (by any margin), Tottenham lose and Newcastle fail to win; or if they lose by a single goal, Tottenham draw or lose, and Newcastle fail to win.
Arsenal will finish fourth: if they draw and Tottenham win; if they lose (by any margin), Tottenham win and Newcastle fail to win; if they lose (by any margin), Tottenham lose and Newcastle win; if they lose by a single goal, Tottenham draw and Newcastle win; or if they lose by two or more goals, Tottenham draw and Newcastle fail to win.
So there we have it. Somebodies probably going to win something....nobody knows who, but somebody will. Probably.
Bert & myself had to fly back from the Seychelles this week, as soon as we heard about the fine weather that was about to bless blighty we dropped our cocktails and headed for the heliport. It was whilst in the helicopter that we started to bicker about who's tips would win. I must admit, he got the better of me and dangled me out over the Atlantic and it was at that point that I realised his tips were far better.
Bert has gone for Everton draw, Villa, Liverpool, Bolton & Cheltenham. I think he's right with Liverpool, they will want to finish the season on a high. If they enjoy working with Daglish, then the players will try to put in a performance for him. A tenner on Berts five would bring back an astonishing £1,700! Go Bertus!
I have gone for Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Norwich & Wigan. A tenner on my five brings back about £70.
So there we have it. Good luck people....and here's hoping!

After a week of frantic footie, I'm sure there is more excitement yet to come. It's Cup Final day and, thankfully for the media, it's between blue & red.
Gary Lineker was at Bertie's place this week and he asked him what he thought of the FA Cup Final:
"This is the easiest bet you will have all season. Liverpool rested on Tuesday and gift Fulham 3 points, where Chelsea had a full squad out on Wednesday, only to get rolled over by Newcastle & Cisse.
Chelsea have one thing on their mind and that's the Champions League, whereas Liverpool on the other hand will want that silverware after finishing in the lower half of the top 10.
On the history of Cup Finals I'm going to say Liverpool will nick this because Chelsea will be elsewhere. Liverpool to win 2-1 within 90 minutes.."
So there we have it. Chelsea will probably win knowing Bert's tips!
I have the feeling that the final may end up just being a damp flannel. Hype often outlives the game.
Tearing ourselves away from the FA Cup, we have also spared some thought for our normal free, UK football, betting tips. This Saturday, I have plumped for Charlton, Huddersfield, Spurs, Southend & Peterhead. A tenner on these 5 as an acca would bring back around £80.
Bert has chosen Arsenal, Rotherham, Rangers, Dundee & Peterhead. A tenner on his five would bring back around £160.
So there we have it. Hopefully they'll be 'aving it large in the Cup Final as well. Nearly forgot, shame on SKY for moving the time of the final and the fact that it isn't avilable to watch on extra-terrestial TV.
Bunch of bumfaces.
It's every mans right to watch the final mid afternoon in his armchair without having to pay for the priviledge!

Lots of early games today and Bertus has decided to play with a few.
We've had a good run for a few weeks, except for last week - that was a bit of a washout! - and hopefully we will redeem ourselves as the finest free betting tip pundits since....whoever the last two were.
Bert Tips: Everton, Derby, Southampton, Shrewsbury & Wrexham. The ol' banker eh?! Talking of old, Bert has now joined the over 40's club!! Anyway, a punt on a Bertie Acca with a tenner would bring back around £130.
My tips are Huddersfield, Crawley, Plymouth, Ross County & Elgin. A tenner on these five would bring back about £350.
To be honest, it's a really dodgy time for betting pundits across the UK at the moment. It's that time of the season where players are fired up with either promotion, relegation, playoffs, blowoffs, all sorts of issues going on there. That means every game is a hard one to call. That's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it.
See you soon and good luck!

Well, what a performance. I was listening to the Barca Chelsea game whilst updating the site. Action packed, and lets be honest, who expected that?!
With Chelsea down to 10 men before the end of the first half, just after letting in a goal. Then Barca score again. Well thats that I thought, as did most of us probably! But against all the odds, they hang on by the skin of their teeth. They even score another to get a draw from the Old Camp!
Bit like Bert. He's hanging on to his Thirties by the skin of his teeth!
SITE UPDATED! Back on Friday for more free Uk football betting tips! Hopefully we can clock up our 250th win of the season so far....

Well it was all looking good at one point in time on Saturday, but by the time the final whistle was blown it all looked a bit mediocre!
3 out of 5 for me and just two right for Bertsam & Flotsam. Nothing spectacular.
Hopefully, anyway. Bert was let out on good behaviour and the first thing he did was call me and asked if I would be a patsy, I mean check his results. Once I told him he just walked straight back in of his own accord. Free meals see.
Anyways, without further ado we will now give your top tippity tictac tips for this evening.
Bert has plumped with Bayern Munich, Huddersfield & York. A tenner on his three would bring back approximately £22. Bertie the Banker me thinks!
I have chosen Barcelona, Brentford & Swindon. A tenner on these three as an accy would bring back about £40.
There aren't that many games on tonight, but if you want a long shot try AC Milan. I know that goes against one of my tips as they are playing Barcelona, but they held Barca to a goal-less draw last time out and they are a big team, plus at the prices they are getting it may well be worth a punt.
That's it for now folks, good luck, back on Saturday......and here's hoping!
